Product description
Every pearl is a more or less spherical concretion of the thin layers of mother-of-pearls produced by a secretion of the shell
of marine or sweet-water pearl-oysters. The ancient Greek mythology associated pearls with goddess Venus’ tears; for the Romans pearls were tears shed by the angels. In Japan they were said to be frozen tears of the in-loves which had fallen into the sea whereas in the Islamic world pearls were referred
to as the tears shed by Adam and Eve over their sin. For this reason pearls symbolize love and purity.
