The name of this gem, as the Emerald a silicate of aluminium and beryllium, derives from its colour which gradates from
green-azure to sky-blue. In India and ancient Egypt the Aquamarine was often used in amulets; the Grecians narrated that
these aquatic gems had been taken by the Hippocampi from the Nympha’s treasures for being later on deposited along the
shores settled by man. The Aquamarine is said to protect those who goes to sea. It is considered the gem for those who
were born in March. Its planet is Saturn and it symbolizes fidelity and protection on the sea.
